Fashion Week Beauty Look: Armani

The beauty look at the Giorgio Armani’s S/S 2011 show was one of the most entrancing of the season! To go along with the designer’s all blue line-up (influenced by the night sky over the Sahara), the models walked the runway wearing gorgeous navy Tuareg-style head wraps and blue heavy makeup created by makeup artist Linda Cantello.

Cantello created a sapphire smoky eye using Giorgio Armani Maestro Eye Shadow in #21 and black Giorgio Armani Smooth Silk Eye Pencil. Shadow was used on the lids from the inner corners up towards the brow bone, as well as underneath the lower lash line. Giorgio Armani Face Fabric Foundation and the brand’s Sheer Bronzer were used on the models’ skin.

It was the hair that truly captivated me however – I’m dying for one of the turbans! Hairstylist Oribe smoothed the models’ hair into a sleek up-do before topping it with a head wrap. Oribe remarked that he wanted to make the models look “beautiful,

smooth and polished.” Find out how he successfully did that after the jump!

To Get the Look:

1. Brush the hair in a circular motion around the head, distributing it evenly along the way in a neat wrap.

2. Use pins to secure the style, making sure the hair is smooth and held close to the scalp.
3. Mist Oribe Superfine Strong Hair Spray for a solid hold. If you’re worried about stray ends, cover the style with a hairnet – but don’t cover the hairline.

4. Wrap fabric around the head in a turban style, letting loose material on one end sweep forward over the shoulder.
