Selita Ebanks in custom Calvin Klein Collection

While I may not know Selita Ebanks’ portfolio of work beyond the fact that she was a former Victoria’s Secret model, having seen her out and about at a myriad of fashion functions, I will say this: the girl knows how to work a look. To wit, check out the custom Calvin Klein Collection minidress she donned for the premiere of her beau, Kanye West’s, debut film premiere, “Runaway,” in New York City. It’s no small feat to get Francisco Costa to whip up a look for the Met Ball or CFDA Awards, let alone a movie premiere, so Ebanks, who co-stars in the film, is clearly one lucky–and influential–girl. Also of note: Costa’s designs are less body-hugging and more body-skimming, so this gunmetal crystal embroidered number was definitely head turning. The geometric pattern of the crystals is absolutely stunning and the roll of the fabric up at the shoulders creates a nice dimension. While the silhouette is a bit more fitted than I’ve come to know as Calvin Klein Collection, hints of Francisco’s runway craftsmanship are evident: the structured sleeve, the ingenious use of textiles and, of course, the quintessential singular color. And lest we forget, only a body like Ebanks’ could turn out a dress this equally mindblowing.
