Frugal Snob: Crazy Rumors Vegan Lip Balms

crazy rumor.jpg

I can’t imagine the stress that comes with Christmas! Hanukkah is mostly for children and unlike Christmas where everyone gets gifts for everyone, most Jewish people only give gifts to their young children. That said, at least in my family, growing up my brother and I got gifts on every one of the eight nights (my poor mama! She’s the kind of woman who goes to 5 different shops just to find the “perfect” card, I can’t even imagine how stressed this holiday made her!). Hanukkah for the Feiereisen family would start with the “biggest gift” and then dwindle down to the equivalent of stocking stuffers, which is what these lip balms make me thing of. If you’re still scrambling to find a last-minute Hanukkah gift or looking for a stocking stuffer, Crazy Rumors lip balms come in a bunch of fun flavors for dry lips of any age (what young girl wouldn’t wanna lather her lips in banana split…). Though they’re not as moisturizing as say Fresh’s Sugar Lip Treatment, if you don’t have uber-dry lips they should do the trick. Plus you can’t compare the price of these babies to anything you’ll find in the Sephora aisles – each balm goes for $3.99 (or $15 for a gift set of 4), and through 12/31/10 use the code CR15 and get 15% off your order.

All of the balms are natural and vegan (I would normally think vegan wasn’t a good thing for lip balm, but these are greasy enough), and the colors are made with 70% organic ingredients including organic shea butter (for moisture) and organic jojoba oil. As for flavors they’ve got ones ranging from Banana Split and Berry Bubble, to French Vanilla and Orange Cremsicle. I like to shy away from sweet flavors so my favorite is their Perk collection, but my 14 year old self would totally unnecessarily hoard as many of these cute balm flavors as I could:)
