Frugal Snob: Dr. Hauschka Daily Body Care Kit

I planned my trip to India to attend one of my friend’s wedding, but I’ve wanted to go for years. Not only is much of the jewelry that comes from here gorgeous, but I’m very into holistic body care and alternative medicine. I’m so excited to go to Kerala, which is the last stop on my trip. It’s a huge Ayurveda destination and I hope to indulge in some eye-opening treatments at the Zuri Hotel where I’ll be staying:) In the meantime I’m taking a frugal, DIY approach with Dr. Hauschka’s Daily Body Care Kit ($23, but for the next two days it’s $18). It comes with travel-sized Rose Body Wash, Hand Cream, Quince Body Moisturizer, Rose Body Moisturizer, Lemongrass Body Oil, Rose Body Oil, and Lavender Bath (all are formulated with pure essential oils).

I’m always a fan of lavender and rose…not so much lemon, but there’s something invigorating about it (hence I always squeeze some in my tea). The combo of products is super-relaxing and I love that everything is made in Germany (my parents are from Munich and holistic/homeopathic remedies are hugely popular there). All of the products also have expiration dates on them, which I’m still baffled isn’t a requirement in the US – especially since I just noticed that the GoSMILE toothpaste I bought at Sephora two weeks ago expired in JANUARY 2010!!!
