Jimmy Choo Ross Lizard Embossed Satchel

Going back to basic is never a bad idea, especially when reissuing a bag as classic and gorgeous as this. Jimmy Choo went back through it’s archives and brought back one of the original bag designs. I love the ultimate lady-like style with a short flap and simple closure. Their recent bags have been looking like a Christmas tree decorated by Fancy Nancy, with every trim and hardware thrown on them. The plain flat soft leather is gorgeous but of course the lizard embossed leather gives posh and polish. I used to poo-poo stamped exotic but I realized that my snobbishness toward faux is unfounded. I just like the look of exotic (one might think my irrational fear of live reptiles in turn motivates my love of exotic accessories) and the stamping techniques are so good now it is no longer cheesy. This style is being sold exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenueicon lizard embossed is $1695 and plain leather is $1595 (definitely go for the exotic look for a mere a $100 more).

  1. I totally agree with you re: Jimmy Choo usually over-decorating their bags. This, however, is very refreshing! I actually think that Jimmy Choo does stamped leather very well (I own one), so I would consider buying one from them when I would not anyone else. Ladylike satchels are not my style, but I can appreciate the beauty of this bag.

  2. Ouch! Kelly, you have a typo! The possessive “its” does NOT have an apostrophe. “I-T-‘-s” means “it is”. You and Tina have always spelled it correctly in the past! I’ve been reading your blogs for several years and find them amusing. Please don’t perpetuate this grammar error.
