Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2011 Bags

With chief accessories designer Richard Sinnott at the helm, Michael Kors, season after season, churns out some of the most classic yet coveted bags and shoes. For pre-fall, the offering is both diverse and spot-on. First up is the $1,695 Aerin small flap bag, named for Kors’ best friend, the beauty heiress Aerin Lauder (pictured above); I particularly love it in metallic teak python as it beautifully complements the metal frame. It’s a natural day-into-night bag that can be worn around the shoulder or across the body for ease and convenience. Another key component for pre-fall is the spotted black and white calk palomino print, which I fancied in the Harlow clutch ($995) and Gia shoulder flap bag ($795), another key shape for next fall. While Kors’ ready-to-wear was colorblocking at its best, the palomino accessories provided a complementary punch of print to add some dazzle to classic sportswear. Rounding out the assortment of bag offerings is the Gia satchel in desert python ($2,195) and Gia clutch ($995), both of which offer the versatility of a day bag with the capacity required of an on-the-go evening clutch. I don’t expect flashy, fashion-forward bags from Michael Kors; what has made his accessories a huge success is their level of consistency and the ability to relate to women of all professional backgrounds. They won’t be disappointed come fall.

  1. Pre Fall 2011… Ghee! It’s freezing here in New York — just let me get through Winter 2010!!! But at least I’ve something to look forward to– Classically Gorgeous!!!

  2. Love the gold metal frame of the Aerin! Adds so much to this simple bag (and the skin looks amazing!). Kinda like the palomino print clutch for a fun girls night out. But looks uber cheap on the lady like bag. Love the shape of the gia satchel and clutch.
