Mila Kunis in Oscar de la Renta

As the antagonist to Natalie Portman’s Swan Queen character in “Black Swan,” Mila Kunis was certainly no angel is disguise. So on Monday night, the dark beauty chose, quite literally, a dark beauty of a dress in which to wear to the Gotham Independent Film Awards. And while dark is hardly a word ever associated with Oscar de la Renta, this gorgeous navy silk gazar dress, with its almost thorn-like fabric points at the bosom and plucked (pun intended) straight from the Spring 2011 runway, was a fabulous choice–both for its fit and full-on glamour. Note the black silk organza flowers cascading across the fabric (perhaps in tune with explaining the “sharp edged” bodice) and the all-business black leather perforated belt cinching that oh-so-tiny dancer’s waist. Overall, it’s a deviation for Kunis, who more often than not wears her hair down in approachable waves while on the red carpet. But sometimes it’s nice to take a walk on the wild side–so as long as you let Oscar lead the way.
