Pierre Hardy Skyline Shoe

When Pierre Hardy opens his West Village shop on Wednesday, it’ll mark not only the famed shoe and jewelry designer’s first-ever U.S. outpost, but be home to an exclusive new “Skyline” heel designed with the Big Apple in mind. Specifically, Hardy reconfigured the vast concrete and glass Manhattan skyline as a glittering pump–and while he pondered naming the shoe “Paris/New York,” I think “Skyline” is more chic and streamlined (much like his shoes). At first glance it looks like a lot of shoe. But look closer: the geometric lines are more like jewels while that metal heel–check out that heel!–is rigid and polished. All this and more will be on display at the glass box of a shop, designed by MR. Architecture + Décor and housed in a gutted garage rebuilt as a cozy cavern.

$1,540, available exclusive at Pierre Hardy NYC boutique (30 Jane Street, 646 449 0070)

  1. I do love a unique shoe, but I am curious how they feel on. Will the “skyline” ankle make it difficult to walk in or cause serious bleeding? I suffer for fashion, but I need to draw the line somewhere. Cool concept though.
