Something tells me Reed Krakoff didn’t really intend for this bag to be used to cart around your smelly sneakers and sweaty shorts. This “gym” bag is certainly luxe utilitarian; the all-leather body with python handle strap closure is modern while the detachable strap makes it practical. I think Reed has an incredible eye for style and design; I would swear he was an architect if I didn’t know any better. This is a great work bag for the woman who needs plenty of room and none of the extraneous muss or fuss. At quick glance, however, I think the strap anchors look cheap. They’re thin, made of simple metal and just look like something you’d find at Macy’s. Granted, this bag is under $800, so I guess you get what you pay for–especially at Reed Krakoff. But remember the days when $790 was A LOT to spend on a bag? Oh how times have changed.
