While everyone else was decked out in their finest wares at the “Somewhere” premiere–Sofia Coppola in Louis Vuitton, Stephen Dorff in Tom Ford–leave it to indie spirit Erin Wasson to turn out in this asymmetrical polka-dotted jumpsuit and throw the event’s muted color scheme completely off. I’m all for a fashion adventure, but it’s important to be respectful of an event’s aesthetic–and this was more an insult. It’s terribly low cut, for one, but just the clashing of colors hurts the eye. She looks like she wore a “Project Runway” castoff straight off the runway onto the red carpet. The overall silhouette is chic; it’s the choice of color combination and insane embroidery that deserves a tongue lashing. Not even Santa Monica–the hippie-friendly locale that Erin calls home–would dare lay claim to this fashion faux pas.
