Beyoncé in Alexander McQueen

One of the first–if not the first–celebrities to wear an Alexander McQueen design by Sarah Burton is none other than Beyoncé Knowles! The songstress arrived at The Cosmopolitan Hotel’s grand opening Las Vegas bash over the weekend looking gorgeous in this McQueen folklore flower organza print dress from the Spring 2011 collection. The dress fits her body like a glove and I love the structured shoulder detail. Because the dress has a kaleidoscope print incorporating a slew of motifs and objects, I’m happy Beyoncé kept her hair back, makeup minimal and wore just a pair of statement earrings. The optional McQueen multi-slit black leather belt cinched her in nicely at the waist, although I probably would’ve chosen a solid belt–all those slits only make her outfit seem a tad too busy around the waist. A quick call to McQueen revealed that the long-sleeve version is available only by special order (expect an 8-10 week delivery time); a cap sleeve and sleeveless version should arrive in stores in February. All three versions will set you back around $13,000, give or take a few hundred.
