Flats That Stand Up to Stilettos

Don’t get me wrong, I love heels. But that love has destroyed my back. And for those who are tired of hearing me complain about my bad back, I am doing you a favor by putting all my favorite flats in one story. But for those who want to commiserate with me, here is a selection of flats that will reassure you that we, flats wearers, have not been left behind. I am leaving out ballet flats since they’re a dime a dozen, literally. We all have them and have our own favorites. These sandals are for dressing up – outfits that you would normally wear fabulous heels with.

There are those (Tina) who do not believe in spending more than the cost of Havaianas flip flops on flats.  But why would having an actual heel on the shoe make it worth more?  These Rene Caovilla Crystal Slide Thong Sandal has all the razzle dazzle of any of her glitz filled shoe.  For $1095.

These are not flip flops. The Alexander McQueen Skull-Embellished Leather Sandals in gold leather has a slight 1″ heel to give it some formality and with that skull embellishment, you clearly care about style over function. For $495.

Great for summer dresses and cute shorts, these Marc by Marc Jacobs Leather Sandals has contrasting straps to mix things up for versatility. For $275.

The nice feminine dress is the hardest to pair with flats but with these Manolo Blahnik Pepe ankle strap sandals, you are making no compromises.  For $645.

Chloe makes the best flats, these Chloe Back Tie Sandal are amazing with the crop pant trend.  The thick suede straps make them uber comfortable!  For $675.

Chie Mihara had design in mind when making this Two-Tone T-Strap Sandals, the architectural straps with the pop of silver metallic is simple, modern and undeniably amazing.  For $335.

These Valentino Studded Sandals are so beyond incredible.  I have studded sandals from Cesare Paciotti that I wear with edgy dresses and skinny jeans.  These are a bit more refined so will go with your best looks of the season.  For $595.
