As a young actress, it’s important to set the right career trajectory–and fashion is a vital part of that path. Jennifer Lawrence, it seems, knows what is stylistically good for her: wearing Oscar de la Renta. At this past weekend’s Palm Springs International Film Festival awards gala, the 20-year-old turned up in the designer’s black and azure stretch cotton dress that looked poured on her body–but in the most flattering way possible. Yes, it was a spring look plucked straight off the runway (translation: she’s got a killer body), and the cinched belt (also de la Renta) really added just the right amount of toughness to an otherwise feminine cocktail number. De la Renta is revered for his modern yet classic use of florals and this dress, with its beautiful posy print, veers younger than his typical botanical offerings. By keeping the hair straight and down and the neckline clean, Lawrence’s pale complexion almost glows against the bright hue of the dress. Look closely: she looks like a young Renée Zellweger. Here’s to a fashionable future!
