Marni Linen Tote

Marni_linen_tote.jpg

Sometimes I really think I need a really chic burlap sack. And then I think, Aw man! There are no chic burlap sacks. And then, alas, Marni gives us this linen tote that looks like a burlap sack. And then I wake up and realize no one in the entire universe would call a burlap sack chic, nor would they want to carry a burlap sack. Unless they are an actual farmer. Or whoever else carries burlap bags. You know who doesn’t carry burlap bags? The readers of BagSnob. It is described as the “perfect city carryall.” Sure, if your city is a farming city. And you’re a farmer. If you are a farmer, go ahead and snag this bag before it sells out. It’s only $525.

  1. LOL!!!!!!

funny i actually met someone who worked for marni when i was a student and he said all he was asked to do was pretty much copy from other designers; which is more evident with some pieces, the necklaces (rip off lanvin), or this “burlap” bag reminds me of a bag by miu miu same material, same shape except that that bag is cute IMO, and 300 dollars more expensive.

    wont buy.

    🙂

  2. Remember the I Love Lucy episode where Lucy & Ethel are in Paris, coveting an expensive designer’s bizarre looks, and Ricky & Fred try to teach them a lesson by having dresses made from burlap sacks (and hats made from horse feedbags) and pass them off as that really expensive designer’s dresses, and Lucy & Ethel wear them proudly down the avenue without ever knowing the difference? Well, this is the bag that goes with those outfits.
