Yoshida Crow Model Airplane

yoshida_crow_model_airplane.jpg

This was the first ever rubber band powered airplane! A Japanese engineer modeled the design after watching a crow fly, its original flight was in 1889!! In 1911 these A-shaped winged airplanes successfully crossed the Sumida River in Japan and won a flight contest. This reproduction model uses balsa wood, Styrofoam and rubber bands for your own historical flight that teaches physics while having a blast. At Arte Bebe for $23.
