Jennifer Aniston by Jennifer Aniston: You did the Rachel, Will you do the Jen?

Oh Jen. Everyone’s best friend since she was Rachel in NYC with those irresistible layers. We’ve seen her go through ups and downs, make ups and break ups. Even if you don’t like her as an actress, a tiny part of everyone has felt for her as a person, or at least I have. But through out it all she has kept her chin up, which I admire, but the question is, do you want to smell like her?

I discovered her new perfume, Jennifer Aniston by Jennifer Aniston, on my weekly trip to Sephora to sample new perfumes, see what’s poppin’ with new products and to get some dip-and-dots (conveniently located across from Sephora).

I have mixed reviews on this perfume. At first whiff, it has a burst of something you would find on your grandmothers vanity. It was a bit too sweet and floral for me and knocked me back at first. Not to be discouraged, I sprayed that little baby right on my wrist and headed back around the store to browse the eyelashes. A few minutes later, I brushed my hair out of my face and could smell something much different than what I had originally experienced. The fragrance smelled lighter and better on my skin. This is common because everyone’s chemistry reacts differently to different smells so you should never really judge a perfume by its bottle, but nonetheless, I was surprised.

However, after leaving the store, grabbing some banana split dip-and-dots and going on my usual route to check the new shoe stock, the fragrance had worn off significantly. This is my pet peeve of fragrances. Though you don’t want to blow people away and be “that girl” who people smell before the elevator doors open, you don’t want to drop $39 -$70 to have your date not be able to tell you put on any perfume by dessert.

Bottom line, this one is going to be a love/hate one for most people. Me? I wouldn’t pull the trigger and buy it. But perfume is as personal as the bra you wear. Everyone is just a little different. Try it out for yourself @ Sephora.
