Jurlique’s New Purely White Skin Brightening Cleanser

Unlike say mascara, lip gloss, or anti-aging cream, when it comes to cleansers I usually think…how special can one be? For the most part as long as it’s not one that’s horribly smelly or one that’s not suitable for sensitive skin, I’m game to try anything and despite having some faves, I have yet to be loyal to any one of them. I do often encounter one problem though, which is that I’m completely addicted to my Clarisonic (have been swearing by it ever since it launched…buy one! It will change your skin!!), and not all cleansers work well with it. Foams and gels work particularly badly, but some creams don’t lather up and work their way into my skin enough either. So far Liz Earle’s cleanser has worked the best, but Jurlique’s new Purely White Skin Brightening Cleanser ($23) is a close second. The only reason I’m not calling this one a tie is because there’s something in the Jurlique cleanser that stings if it gets in your eyes, which happens to me often with the Clarisonic despite being a seasoned vet…which I didn’t know till I experienced the momentary burn! Unlike Liz Earle’s however Jurlique’s works double-duty as a wrinkle-fighter and a skin brightener.

The cleanser is part of a new regimen that Jurlique launched and it’s also supposed to help fight discoloration and increase skin firmness. The line includes:
Purely White Skin Brightening Mist, $34
Purely White Skin Brightening Essence, $58
Purely White Skin Brightening Day Cream, $45
Purely White Skin Brightening Night Treatment, $48

Check it out here. Do you use a Clarisonic? If so please share what cleansers you use with it!

  1. My skin is dry and sensitive, so I really like using Nude Skincare’s Cleansing Oil with my Clarisonic. I think the Clarisonic really works the oil into my skin, leaving it both clean and moisturized. When I want something with a little more cleansing power, I use Bliss’ Clog Dissolving Milk (it smells just like oranges and bananas).

  2. Love the Jurlique products. One of my all-time favorite cleansers is their Soothing Cleansing Lotion. Another great one if you have super sensitive skin that’s prone to dryness or redness is The Organic Pharmacy’s Carrot Butter Cleanser. I literally cannot recommend it enough – it’s super rich, but really gets in there and cleanses without drying out the skin or leaving behind that nasty residue. That’s my 2 cents anyway!
