Marc Jacobs Black Orchid Singapore Leather Clutch

marc_jacobs_black_orchid_clutch.jpg

Thoroughly modern in its understated design, this clutch exudes clean, chic elegance. I love the soft simplicity and intelligent restraint, as glittering hardware is the focus; the front closure’s flash of hammered metal offsets the buttery, matte calf leather nicely. With three center compartments, it offers great interior organization. I can see toting this day or night, with a breezy sundress and flat sandals and later at a cocktail party with a glossy red manicure (and perhaps a lip to match). The subdued luxury of this bag translates to total versatility, and leaves room for personal styling – and isn’t that what we really want in an accessory every once in awhile? At Net-a-Porter for $1150.

  1. Now, I officially feel like I’m starting to see the same bag over and over. They all have this minimal, rounded edge, rectangular design with large color blocking or modern hardware…

For what it is, I do like this one.

  2. Hi Kelly:

On Friday, I went to the new Tom Ford store on Rodeo Drive. I looked at his bags. Most of the bags that he designed are made with oversized zippers on the bottom of the bag as well as on the top. I was wondering if you have seen the bags and what your opinion is??

    Thanks.

    Michelle

  3. I guess this small, structured, clean-lined, lady-like bags are what is in now? What do I do with all my beloved hobos? I don’t think this is a trend I can follow.
