Valentine’s Day-Date Night Dress Code

Although I’m single, I have never been one to call Valentine’s Day “Singles Awareness Day.” I love love and I love pink and red together even more. Valentine’s Day is pretty much the only time you can wear red and pink together and be completely cheesy and you won’t get asked where your chihuahua was. Get it? Because you’d be Paris Hilton?! Yeah…

A Valentine’s date is especially fun. Whether you have been together a few weeks or for years and years, Valentine’s is a great excuse to force yourself out of the comfort zone and into a situation where you are to rekindle romance. What better way to do that than with a sexy (yet classy! Who are we, the Kardashians? Actually that’s a false statement because sometimes they look really good, but I digress.) date outfit. And a sexy après date outfit.

Though an LBD is hardly revolutionary, this Rachel Gilbert number is definitely a man-getter. Though the peplum gives this dress a fun, flirty and stylish look, the slim-fitting skirt and the strappy low back make this super sexy with out trying too hard. Sure it’s the middle of the winter and such, but put on a heavy jacket and make your lover get the car for you while you wait inside.

You didn’t think I’d have a post about Valentine’s without a pink, cheesily appropriate dress, did you? This Issa silk-jersey strapless dress is perfect for this years celebration of love holiday. I am fully aware V-day is on a Monday this year, and if you have to work late, this dress is perfect to wear to the office with opaque black tights and a black blazer. some take off the jacket, fluff your hair, spritz some Creed and you’re set to go.

What would Valentine’s Day be without some lovely, feminine lingerie? Though I would never tell you to head to your neighborhood creepy lingerie store, I have always been a fan of classy lingerie. Of course, you don’t walk around announcing you are wearing it, but sometimes it’s fun to have a secret only you know about. This Cosabella satin and lace babydoll is festive in red and sexy, while keeping things a mystery and not skeezing it up.
