A crisp white calf-leather bracelet with a horse-bit buckle, sweetly nautical red-and-white stripe web, and irreverent charm. At first glance, this bracelet looks like simple, classic Gucci. But the tag reading “Gucci loves you” isn’t so irreverent and the stripe is in honor of the Japanese flag. On April 23, Gucci will release this limited edition charity bracelet to support victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami. It will debut at Gucci stores all over Japan, followed by worldwide distribution to their flagship stores.
I applaud Gucci’s efforts to support Japan by donating all proceeds from every purchase to benefit the Japanese Red Cross Society – and I’ll be doing so with this totally chic, subtle, and wearable bracelet on my wrist. At Gucci for $100.
