Lanvin Draped-Chain Thong Sandal: Your Feet are Worth the Treat

lanvin_chain_thong_sandal.jpg

Leave it to Alber Elbaz to create such dazzling jewels for our feet. Made in Italy, these draped-chain thong sandals are an avant-garde version of something a Roman goddess might have worn with her tunic. I too, love a tunic and nothing flatters billowing dishabille them more than a sandal decked out in prong-set crystals, antiqued metal chains, grosgrain ribbon ties, and a shiny brooch. Although I expect comfort when wearing a flat – don’t our heels put our feet through enough turmoil?! – I’ll suffer a little for these gems. Just an excuse to decline any excessively long walks. I can even get used to those dangling chains that are a bit irritating at first. I do like to make an entrance, and a little jingle-jangle always turns a few heads, especially when the visual follow-up is this sublime. At Bergdorf Goodman for $1,990.

Pair with: Super-short and super-sweet, Givenchy‘s drop-waist dress is a silk chiffon indulgence. Flaunt it along with your bejeweled feet and you’ll look like one of Degas’ ballerinas, circa now. At Barneys New York for $1,980.
