New from Vichy

A few weeks ago I went to an event to get a preview of what’s in store from Vichy for spring/summer and to celebrate the French brand’s 80th anniversary. It was a looong event packed with lots of presentations and even more information. While I admit I was getting a bit restless hearing about all of the research, studies, and tests that were done on the new products, it did confirm why Vichy is consistently among the top performers not only among drugstore products, but skincare products in general. The event showcased three new products, including a sun-care range. Can you believe that with all of their products Vichy has never, until now, sold moisturizers and sunblock in the US??

for one was shocked, but I guess I never noticed since I tend to reach for La Roche-Posay sun products when I’m in the drugstore. Capital Soleil Soft Sheer Sunscreen Lotion (SPF 30 is $27.50 and SPF 60 is $29.50), is quite the formidable competitor however! You know how suncreens with high SPFs usually feel really thick and chalky? Well Vichy’s not only protects from UV rays and has anti-aging properties, but it goes on smooth. It’s suncare that literally is so easy to blend it feels like skincare. It’s fragrance-free, water-resistant, pediatrician-tested, and works on all skin types.

Also just launched is ProEVEN Total Dark Spot Corrector ($42.50), a daily face product to fight the appearance of dark spots and uneven skin tone in all ethnicities. Knock on wood I don’t have dark spots yet, but I tried this product on my hand and it felt exactly like a primer, so I imagine this would work very well as a double-duty buy. Jump for more on what’s new from Vichy!

The last newbie product I previewed was Normaderm Triple Action Anti-Acne Hydrating Lotion ($22.50), which targets adult acne (aka the only thing worse than dealing with excess fat!). What I like about this product is that it dries matte so guys shouldn’t be averse to using it since it doesn’t look like you’ve got anything applied on your face after you lather it on. It’s also hydrating unlike any other acne-fighter I can recall ever trying.
