Christian Louboutin “Fine Bretelle” Platform Pump: If the Shoe Fits…

christian_louboutin_fine_bretelle1.jpg

A round-toe stiletto slingback of canvas and leather python with a hint of a school girl’s Mary Jane – sounds almost impossible, right? In the hands of the ever-reliable Christian Louboutin, the hybrid is elegant and even simple. Linens or canvases meshed with exotic skins seem to be the look of the moment. It’s a win-win: day-to-night crossover is not an issue and neither is overdoing the animal prints. After inspecting the “Fine Bretelle,” Louboutin might do it better than anyone.

This is pretty wearable for spiked heels, but you do need to watch out for that tricky Mary Jane strap that will sit right across the bone of your foot. Fabric doesn’t give, so you might be forced to go up a size; then the strap could be too loose and the streamlined look is lost on a sloppy-flopper of a strap. A-widths, this might be your lucky day! If the shoe fits, you’ve got yourself one majorly hot little shoe that will set you up nicely with your summer wardrobe and send you sashaying through the season. At Barneys New York for $995.

Pair with: Skin is in for summer. But not necessarily your own! 3.1 Phillip Lim’s buttery nude leather cocktail dress looks as light as a feather and has a silk-chiffon back so you’ll only look steamy. On Net-a-Porter for $1,500.
