Olivia Harris by Joy Gryson “Jackie O” Satchel: Jackie Knows Best

I have a feeling the name of this bag is referencing Jackie Onassis in her later years as a book editor (she famously carried only a purse and refused to be bogged down by toting manuscripts), rather than the pink Chanel-suit wearing first lady of the Kennedy era. This Olivia Harris by Joy Gryson bag is no briefcase. While it has the look of one, if used like an attaché, it tends to sag a bit. But keep packing light and it’s great for work! It’s got a professional vibe, with a retro mustard-and-tan color combo, unexpected for such a practical style. You can bet Jackie O. would love her iPad if she were around for the craze – and this satchel is the perfect size for one. A functional purchase at a great price (and the chained tassel adds modern-girl flair). Enough said. On ShopBop for $395.

Pair with: Jackie O. would approve of A.P.C.’s belted silk-twill dress in the office. It’s simple and eager to be styled, with enough classic flair to have you ready and out the door in less time than it takes you to tie a scarf over your hair. On Net-a-Porter for $400.
