Don’t be afraid of prints! If you’ve always been too timid to go full-pattern, now is the time to take the plunge. You get a free pass this season because even if you miss, it’s still all about prints. Anyway, I promise you won’t miss here with my top print picks of the season. Why opt to blend in with neutral solids, when you can go graphic, abstract, or floral? It’s like injecting your wardrobe with a shot of steroids – one type of “juicing up” I’m all about! And if you’re still iffy about making the commitment, the bonus is these are on SALE!

Temperley London‘s maxi ($697.50 from $1,395) is a madcap mix of demure and animalistic. Floral and zebra is an ingenious combination that you would think only goes together in your wildest dreams. Done with artistic abstraction, it’s so nice for pepping up quiet vacations near a body of water.

Need something more literal to strike your fancy? Carven‘s mini-dress ($535.50 from $765) is truly explosive. The volcano print is somehow serene – a classy cut on linen and silk helps – but it packs a powerful punch in style.

Thakoon plays with print wisely on his “Backgammon” dress ( $594 from $990), keeping it clean for all but one focus of asymmetric gathering, to make an interesting pattern even more intriguing.

Cacharel‘s abstract floral print ($919 from $1,530) makes you the canvas of a gorgeous painting – I’m seeing some Monet influence here. Even better, it showcases your unique personality before you’ve even uttered a word. This sweetly detailed dress is a fun one to accessorize – the halter neck allows you to stack the bangles to your elbows! So go for it, no prints barred!

As for Lanvin‘s silk-taffeta python-printed trench ($2,749 from $4,585), this is something you simply must buy now (on sale!) – come fall you’ll be a hot number sashaying all around town, fully appreciating the neutrality of a well-conceived snake print.
