Cooling Down with Face and Body Mists

I remember when I was younger spending summer days at the pool in my parents apartment building spritzing myself with my dad’s Evian water mist…anyone else remember those? Maybe they even still make them, but about 15 years ago they were literally sold all over the place here in NYC. Things have gotten a little more sophisticated since then and now most skincare brands have their own scented, soothing mists. Though I’m still partial to good old Vichy Laboratoires Thermal Spa Water, for something with a little more of a kick try Jurlique Chamomile Soothing Mist ($31). I love chamomile and this one is very chamomile-y so only check it out if you’re as much of a fan as I am (it comes in other scents like Lavender and Rosewater as well, but I haven’t tried those). The chamomile is great to refresh skin, reduce puffiness, and I always feel mentally soothed when I smell it. I spray this on my face and it’s not irritating, but some people may find the scent a little too strong to spray anywhere other than their body in which case I’d go with something from Vichy for the face. For something a little more mild I also like Cures by Avance Skin Repair Body Mist ($39). It’s great if you’ve gotten sunburned or have dry skin and need extra hydration or simply to cool you down on a hot day. Are you a “mister”? What’s your favorite one?
