Frugal Snob: The Body Shop Body Butter Duos

Honestly I didn’t even know The Body Shop still existed! I knew they still made products because I’ve seen them at Sephora, but I can’t remember the last time I saw an actual store and I used to LIVE in the Body Shop circa 15 years ago. Anyway the folks at The Body Shop got in touch with me and sent me their newest product, Body Butter Duo, to try out and I’m so glad they did because it got me interested in the frugal brand again. The Duos retail for just $15 and come with a light and a heavy moisturizer. The Body Shop was a body butter pioneer so odds are you’re familiar with theirs. I like their body butters because they absorb quickly and are moisturizing, but they’re greasy so you have to be strategic about where you apply them if you’re getting dressed right afterwards (they make great summertime hand creams). As for the light cream in the duo, it works well for my arms, legs, stomach, and back where I don’t need too much moisture, but again it’s greasy even though it absorbs quickly, so give yourself a few minutes before getting dressed.

The Duos come in four iterations: Vanilla, Macadamia, Acai, and Sweet Pea. The Body Shop’s products usually smell very strong, but true to what they’re supposed to smell like which is why I used to use their coconut butter even though most coconut-scented products tend to smell cheap. If you’re into lighter scents however go for the Macadamia or Sweet Pea over Vanilla and Acai. Hopefully the brand will come out with a travel version of this duo because it would be an amazingly useful product to be able to throw in a carry-on bag for a weekend trip! And while I’m at it, I’m going to put in a request for them to come out with a Shea duo…maybe I should start a Facebook group!?
