Issa Dresses: Royally Blue

katemiddleton_issa.jpg

The blue Issa dress will always live in our memories as the beginning of the real life fairy tale romance of our generation. Kate Middleton wore the now famous Issa ruched wrap dress for the announcement of her engagement to Prince Williams. This dress is constantly on back order and they will never be able to keep it in stock. So, while Issa is riding high, could you blame them for pumping out yet more blue dresses? They have kicked it up a notch with a similarly regal crepe-jersey long gown. It is modest, well until you turn around, and appropriate for the most sophisticated of occasions. The simplicity allows the girl inside to shine. The Kimono maxi-dress is a whole other story. I cannot envision Kate ever wearing this, flowing and billowing is just not her style and the casual laid-back vibe from the Kimono look is probably not something she is trying to evoke. But I love it and would absolutely wear it, which makes sense since I don’t have a single Princess bone in my body. Just the thought of having to be proper and making sure my fingers and toes are pointing the right way all the time just does not sound appealing (or doable). So which one are you? Regal Column Goddess or Relaxed Martini in Hand? Crepe Jersey for $670 and Kimono Maxi for $660 both at Net-a-Porter.
