Oscar Blandi Pronto Colore Root Touch-Up & Highlighting Pen

I’m in dire need of a highlight touch-up. Literally I’ve been using Chanel’s Double Perfection Compact in Sable to cover up my roots before I go out! Needless to say when I was given a sample of Oscar Blandi’s Pronto Colore Root Touch-Up & Highlighting Pen ($23), I was eager to try it. If you’ve tried Oribe’s 24K Pomade it will leave the areas you apply it on with the same slightly stiff texture, but unlike Oribe’s Pomade, which requires you to get your hands messy, the pen dispenser makes the color super easy to apply (it applies just like Ellis Faas’ lip and eye products).

The instructions say that after applying the color you’ll have to wait five minutes for it to dry, but it actually dries in seconds and really does look like highlights because just the right amount of color is dispensed. You also get a lot of color with a minimal amount of formulation (it’s very saturated and true to what you see when the color hits the tip of the pen). The only bummer is that the product is only available in six colors. I used the Light Golden Blonde shade, but unfortunately it was brighter/blonder than my real highlights. Hopefully Oscar Blandi will be coming out with more shades in the future. In the meantime I’m thinking of going to the Oscar Blandi salon to get my highlights re-touched since all of the products I’ve used so far have delivered on their promises. If you’ve been, please comment about your experience!
