Cold Weather Gear: Puts the Win in Winter

Cold weather can be fun (I’m only saying this because I enjoy year round sunshine and go to the cold as a novelty) if you have the right gear. Well, anything can be fun if it involves shopping, right? Here are fabulous accessories that will take the bite out of the chill.

I love a good fur hat but it isn’t versatile for everyday, so to get in your fur fix the

Bun Batik Fox Hat ($ 260) is the perfect way to add glamour to even a mundane market run.

Keeping the head warm is key and the ears often get overlooked. These

Eugenia Kim Janine sequin-embellished rabbit earmuffs ($195) make a statement while keeping unwanted noise and the cold out.

Even if you are not a biker, go for the hard edge look with these Reed Krakoff Convertible leather moto gloves ($495) to go with you cool leather jacket. These give you the option to let the fingers loose for the oh-so-important texting.

Mittens keep fingers warmer than gloves because as we know, cuddling up to someone keeps things hot! But these are not mittens from your childhood, Burberry’s Leather-trimmed wool mittens ($245) add a bit of biker chic.

Ditto on what I said about fur above. These are a bit dressier but a fur collar is certainly easier to pull off than the full shabang of a coat. Wrapping the Elie Tahari Kelly Fur Scarf ($698) around any coat (or jacket) will instantly renew last year’s coat.

Puffer coat too much for you? For me, I can’t afford the extra girth. The Cheap Monday Puffa Scarf ($40) is the better way to go to get the look bt more importantly, these keep the wind out. And the price can’t be beat.
