Givenchy Bicolor Large Antigona Duffel: Detail Oriented

What a difference a detail makes. The Givenchy Antigona duffel was always a mediocre bag in my eyes, but this nuanced color-block trim gives is so much more dimension – which makes all the improvement in the world.

A big duffel bag needs something to give it depth, so it’s not just a formless blob on your arm. The new midnight-navy trim accentuates the faint trapezoid shape, preventing the Antigona from looking like just another run-of-the-mill duffel…or satchel or doctor’s bag, for that matter. A deep-blue and soft-black combo is not only as chic as pairings come, it leaves you with a satisfying neutral option that isn’t bland. Sure, Givenchy infused the contrast trim to the off-black bag in order to accommodate the unstoppable color-blocking trend, but I don’t read this as “trendy.” Rather, this is a timeless way to incorporate a current look and still own a bag with possible relevance for years to come. At Barneys New York for $2,480.

Pair with: Let your two-tone duffel shine with Iro’s blue-black sequin Cuzia jacket, a shimmering street-wise motorcycle cut with touches of washed leather trim. On ShopBop for $777.
