DL1961: Denim That Won’t Leave You Feeling Like a Sausage

I have a good two dozen pairs of jeans ranging from Old Navy to Sergio Valente to Seven to Rag & Bone, but I rarely ever wear denim. I find that all of my jeans are either comfortable, but not particularly flattering or look great, but leave me feeling like a sausage (not to mention that they become painful to sit in after dinner…). So, when Couture Snob Tina suggested I stop by the DL1961 showroom because it would completely change my view on denim I was very curious to say the least! Low and behold….I drank the denim kool-aid! Seriously….I don’t really like jeans, but these are unlike any I’ve come across. I tried on a pair in their showroom and couldn’t believe how flatteringly fitted they were, yet completely comfortable. The secret to their comfort is a four-way stretch so even if your jeans are super tight they’ve got give in them. The cool thing is that despite the stretch they don’t sag!

While at the showroom I also had the chance to meet Samantha Harris who, after wearing DL1961’s maternity jeans during her pregnancy, thought the brand should come-out with a similar jean for non-pregnant women. The result is DL1961’s first-ever celebrity-designed jean, the DL1961 Samantha Slim Straight Leg Jeans ($168; pictured right). Its got the same four-way stretch the brand is known for, but the waistband moves with your ever-changing waistline (so no worries if you wear these to dinner and eat a little too much…). DL1961 also launched men’s jeans this Fall and I was told that none of the jeans shrink or stretch in the wash so buy them true to size.

On a side note, while Samantha looked fantastic in her Samantha jeans the style I ended-up falling head-over-heels for is the

DL1961 Britney Skinny Jeans ($178; pictured left). Can you believe pants that fitted can be comfortable!? Buy them now while Shopbop has their 20% off Friend and Family sale! (code: INTHEFAMILY20).
