Marc Jacobs Mickey Mouse and Furball Headbands: The Powerpuff Girls

Remember last year when so many cozy winter hats turned up with cute little kitten ears attached to the tops? On adults? Well, now Marc Jacobs has taken the idea of animal ears to a fluffy new level of exaggerated proportions. Right out of Disneyland and onto the runway, meet the Mickey Mouse headband ($560)! Pebbled leather is accentuated, to say the least, by two gigantic fur pompoms for the look of full-on cartoon ears.

If Mickey isn’t your jam (wait, not everybody wants to look like a talking mouse?), there’s the girlishly eccentric Furball version ($550). A powdery-pink headband gets a heaping dollop of dusty rose-colored fur for a kooky off-kilter effect. Ridculous? Yes. Silly as can be? Of course. But these magnified pompoms are so big, so preposterous, they actually have some power!

Now I think this sort of funny furriness should be reserved strictly for editorials and stay out of the way of real life (unless you’re, say, playing dress-up with your nieces), and I have a feeling you’ll agree. But what do you think about these humorous headpieces? So playful they’re snob or all-out slob?
