Tiffany & Co. Genevieve Satchel: She’s the One

I’d like to introduce you to my new favorite bag of the season. Genevieve has all the elements working for her in picture-perfect harmony. Let’s start with the spots – animal prints dominate the season (as far as I’m concerned, they just keep getting better) and leopard is the most time-honored tradition, just like the brand itself. The structure: sleek, and the details: commanding yet polished. This is a true Lambertson Truex creation – it looks like it could be from the designers’ own archives. My sentimental side relishes the fact their iconic brand still exists in some form. But, naturally, all the Tiffany touches are still shining – trademark blue leather lining and signature enamel accents on the twist-lock hardware.

Looks drew me in, but the Genevieve’s functionality is what keeps this satchel by my side. Two full-sized compartments organize the inside; close up just one side to secure your wallet and valuables, while gadgets, gloves, and lip gloss remain accessible in the other.  Also find phone pockets on easy-entry side (of course they thought of this!), but the very best part about this addictive carryall: it’s as if it was designed to fit an iPad.

I usually keep the whole thing open for a hint of louche – all closed up it reads a bit stiff. Easy and a tad undone, I’ve been getting loads of compliments and admiring glances. Even snobs who aren’t loyal to Tiffany have fallen under their spell. Hey, all it takes is one great bag. At Tiffany & Co. for $1,595.

Pair with: Dress up this instant classic with Brian Atwood’s fierce yet delicate Lolita pumps. Embroidered black satin covers nude leather in a most alluring way. Brian Atwood Lolita Ankle-Strap Sandals, $1,165.
