Fendi Deco Watersnake Platform Pump: Yellow Fever

icon

My fascination with snakeskin shoes is endless. I think you would have to call the amount of I’ve amassed more of a “collection” than “part of a wardrobe.” My shoe shelves are a bit lopsided these days, but so what? Slithery shoes can take on endless incarnations. Just ask Fendi. They wooed me with their Crazy in Love sandal back in the spring; now they’ve proved they have a way with elaphe watersnake yet again.

Casting it in yellow translates to a whole new take. So it goes with shoes: not as versatile, but way flashier (as if exotic snake wasn’t flashy enough to begin with) – sometimes all it takes is some flash to lift your spirits. If these don’t do it, no shoe will!

These pumps are showstoppers for sure: a low vamp for maximum drama (and the look of long legs) and Fendi’s signature bow completing the toe, which doesn’t leap out at you with so much else to see. Keep all the impact in mind and wear sparingly, or else you’ll be known as the girl with the yellow shoes. Beside, they are so uncomfortable, I would I would reserve them for valet service only. Fierce as these are, that pitch is a bitch! At Bergdorf Goodmanicon for $895.

Pair with: Who’s afraid of some color? Not you. Add Reed Krakoff’s ribbed leather clutch, a ladylike shape that blazes in aqua-blue, and they’ll be looking at more than your shoes. On Net-a-Porter for $460.
