Alexander Lewis: A Brazilian Beauty

The other day, I had the pleasant surprise of discovering that my friend Alex started his own line, Alexander Lewis. Alex, a denizen of the world as a whole (between birth and travel), started his line after a career that included stints at E.Tautz, American Vogue (where he assisted Andre Leon Talley and found a mentor in Lisa Love), and Decades Inc. The line echoes a sentiment of foreign beauty and serenity owing to the Brazilian roots and inspiration of the designer.

His initial collection for Resort 2013 is absolutely stunning, with woven materials that are sensual and luxurious. Alexander utilized the beach-side atmosphere, a particular gold mine, Serra Peleda, and furniture design, as sources of inspiration. When I see the colors they remind me of delicious mango and papaya. The finished product is a collection of garments that can be worn by any woman, anywhere, as long as she has a desire for far-flung fantasy. Stay tuned, as this is a line that is destined for a ton of success.
