Chloé Angie Bag: Angies and Demons

Just the other day, the Alice tote had me talking about Chloé reclaiming their It-bag status. While I’m all for Alice, Angie is rubbing me the wrong way. Is it just me or does the bag look a little…deformed? A big pouf at the top and then a rather stunted bottom. The silhouette is domed to the point of distraction. The bottom will likely open up once it gets weighed down with stuff, but its natural shape is just plain awkward. Sure, the leather is lush, the seams are tailored, and the hardware has that lustrous gleam. That’s all well and good, but big whoop. Nothing to write home about here! Just a couple of zip pockets floating in the center of a vast expense of bag. Chloé has a way of blowing hot and cold when it comes to their designs, running the gamut from must-have to must-miss. The Angie isn’t a total disaster by any means, but here’s to hoping their next release is boiling hot.
Available at Barneys New York in Large, $2,295, and Medium, $1,995.

  1. I was waiting for someone to say that. I love Angie’s leather and colours, I even considered this bag in medium and I know it will look good with my body. But what stops me is this bag looks like a roadkill. looks like it was a good idea originally but something happened to it. yet it would be possible to pull this look if the bag is edgy with a lot of studs or something. but smoochy leather looks the best in more feminine shapes.
