From Céline’s original Trapeze to Armani’s sleek riff to Givenchy’s slouchy version and back again: even though everyone is doing the trapezoid right now, I really like the shape of this Marc by Marc Jacobs tote. With the combination of an effortless foldover flap and a zipper closure (which is optional and you’ll only use if you need double-time security), it is highly functioning. I could see the Flipping Out bag as a reliable go-to treasure – if only I didn’t see that snake-effect panel! What can I say: it’s just really bad. I don’t mind faux, but this stuff is so plastic-y, it looks like linoleum flooring. Unfortunately, that’s all it takes to taint a good thing. We just went from chic to cheap.
