Romping Around: Celebrity Style

There’s nothing better on a hot summer day when you have no idea what to wear and trying to decide if you should dress up, down, in pants, or a dress, than seeing that little magical one-piece surprise hanging in your closet; cue – the romper. I’m a huge fan of these because not only do they make wearing shorts less awkward (because let’s face it, out of all the options, shorts have the most bunching, wrinkling, weirdness than any skirt or dress you pull on) but they bring a level of casual class to a look without being too dressed down. Baby shower you say? Romp it up. Bachelorette out on the town? Throw on some heels with that one-piece wonder and you have a sexy, comfortable look to dance around in with no fear of the dreaded panty (or lack of) flash. Celebs have been all about the romp lately.  Kristin Cavallari wore a (something blue) romper  at her bridal shower by Donna Mizani. Jennifer Lopez  was spotted out and about in a sweet Alice + Olivia one-piece while Emma Roberts chose a One Teaspoon boho chic look for a stroll around town. Stacy Keibler went for a ruffled look with a playsuit by Isabel Marant. No matter what you call them, they will help you beat the summer heat while you stay cute as a button. Steal their styles below!

  1. I’ve never understood the appeal of rompers and still don’t. Jennifer Lopez looks horrible in that outfit. Rompers were originally made for babies and toddlers and should stay on children. And you don’t mention the inconvenience when it’s time to use the bathroom (or are there snaps in the crotch so one can really feel like a child? Ugh.)
