I hate wearing the cheap polyester costumes that look more like craft projects than actual clothes, but I also don’t want to spend on something I’m only going to wear once. This year my family is doing a Wizard of Oz theme, and I am of course the Wicked Witch since my girls snatched up the cuter Dorothy and Glinda the Good Witch characters.
I got this Free People dress
(on Shopbop for $98) hoping that it could come in handy again for normal wear. I have a beaded corset that I’m putting over the dress (Midriff? No thanks!) and the perfect green witch’s hat that I did get at a costume store. These other “costumes” can be transitioned with the right accessories (a dog nose, a tiara, or the right hair and makeup) and worn again when not trick or treating.
