Prism Leather and Ponyskin Shoulder Bag: All That She Wants

Prism Leather and Ponyskin Shoulder Bag

If the name Prism brings sunglasses and espadrilles to mind, you’re not mistaken. Model-turned-fashion journalist-turned-designer Anna Laub recently introduced bags to her London-based accessories brand (it all started with an eyeglasses line in 2009), and she’s proving she really can handle it all.

There’s a lot going on here, especially for a petite shoulder bag, but it’s been done in such a way it feels manageable, not cluttered. Breaking up the elements into clean layers serves to give your eyes a break and lets you take in all the details. And there’s plenty to appreciate.

Leopard-print pony and black leather signify two flaps that each open up to their own organizational compartments. A detachable leather and a chainmail strap add to the intrigue. The signature turn-lock hardware is really cool; it makes for a distinct detail that will keep this brand on our minds. Finally, a bit of asymmetry offers just enough of a tweak to make the vibe different yet not odd. All in all, it’s a lot of good things – and not too much of anything. Prism bag at Brownsicon for $620.

Pair with: I don’t usually recommend wearing one brand from hand to toe, but Prism’s black ponyskin espadrille flats will be a transitional staple to glide you into warm weather. On Matches Fashionicon for $199.
