Carven Broderie Anglasie Kiwi-Print Dress: Picking Fruit

Carven Broderie Anglasie Kiwi-Print Dress: Picking Fruit

Carven’s quirky prints always have me coming back for more, and the latest fanciful piece comes with a serving of oversized kiwis. The magic of the French house is that it can take a look like this that seems as if it would be perfect for tots, and give it an unexpected taste of understated sophistication. Green, after all, is the color to wear this spring, and with the broderie overlay (crafted using a technique made popular in 19th century England that involves embroidery, cutwork, and needle lace), you have a dress that is both fresh and retro, day and evening…all at the same time.

Unsurprisingly, the fruity creation is a part of the Resort 2014 collection, one that mixed European influence with the fashion of 1960s Mali. I’d love to see it paired with my favorite clutch this season – Lanvin’s forest green envelopeicon ($971). Best of all is that you must wear a kitten heel or flats with this dress, so as not to throw off the relaxed vibe. Bottega Veneta’s black woven slingbacksicon ($780) are just the shoes to keep your outfit luxe, yet laid-back. Carven broderie anglaise kiwi-print dress at MATCHESFASHION.COMicon for $865.
