L’Oréal Professionnel Absolut Repair Lipidium

The last time I used a L’Oréal hair product I felt like I was washing my hair with Tide. It was a soapy, overly-lathered, big mess…the products also kind of smelled like Tide. At about $3.99 for a shampoo and conditioner you can’t really complain, but needless to say it was not an experience I want to replicate. Since then I’ve used countless Kérastase products, manufactured by L’Oréal, and I consistently find them to be the best. They work amazingly well and even though they’re on the expensive side you need so little of them to work that you can pretty much cut the cost in half since the products last so much longer (make sure to ring out the water in your hair before applying conditioner/masque). Now however, for the first time, there’s a L’Oréal range I love!

It’s not Kérastase level, but it’s surprisingly close. It’s their newly launched L’Oréal Professionnel Absolut Repair Lipidium range. I’ve only tried the shampoo, conditioner and masque, but it’s a complete haircare range. It’s fast acting, imparts shine (I just got my hair cut so it’s especially receptive), and leaves my hair smelling great and feeling super smooth. In fact it’s so moisturizing I’m saving my product for the winter when my hair is way drier (this range is also great for anyone who has hair that has been damaged from chemical treatments or heat styling, or has very frizzy/unruly hair). The one downside is that the prices of this line are closer to Kérastase than to the $3.99 Tide-like products ($24 for the shampoo and conditioner and $32 for the masque – they’re only available in salons), but with hair care products, unlike with many body care products, you usually do get what you pay for.
