Narciso Rodriguez Lygia Leather and Suede Colorblock Clutch: Detail-Oriented

Narciso Rodriguez Lygia Leather and Suede Colorblock Clutch

I love everything about this simple, easy clutch. It’s got the pared-down unfussiness of a pouch, but with high levels of detailing, it instantly feels like so much more. It also showcases just about everything Narciso Rodriguez represents as a designer: cool minimalism, an elegant way of executing colorblocked motifs, and geometric cleanness. The Lygia’s colorblocking has an element of fall tonality in the palette, but otherwise the feel stays light and fresh for a versatile balance.

As for the functional details, the zipper opens up from the top and travels all the way down one side, while interior organizational pockets (including three open ones and four credit card slots) eliminate the need for a wallet and make this daytime friendly. The bottom is notched for more ergonomic holding and it also adds the benefit of some dimension (total flatness can make for frustrating inflexibility when you want to carry any essential with a bit of volume). It’s a large size for a clutch, but thanks to the wristlet, going hands-free is manageable. Sometimes with an oversized clutch, it’s hard to get a good grip when trying to keep it taut under your arm. Narciso Rodriguez clutch at Saks Fifth Avenueicon for $1,395.
