Frugal Snob: Nuance by Salma Hayek Nail Polishes

To launch the newest polishes for her Nuance line, Salma Hayek sent out candy sushi that tied into the new shades. It’s a bit random, but if anyone is looking for a cute little gift, check-out Sweet C Bakery – they ship their adorable candy sushi anywhere in the US and it’s such a fun thing to get someone who has it all or if you’re looking to give a very memorable gift that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. This one is bound to make just about anyone smile. The “sushi” is made using rice crispies, marshmallows, licorice, gummies, Swedish Fish, fruit rollups, and candy…so, so cute!! Now with that side note out of the way…on to the polishes! I took a risk and applied her crimson red polish just before leaving for London a few weeks ago. I say risk because I was going to be traveling for eight days and knew I wouldn’t have time to stop for a manicure should it chip. A messy manicure is one of my biggest beauty pet peeves. I used Nail Inc top and bottom coats to sandwich the Nuance polish and it was a solid five days before the color showed any sign of chipping. The one downside to the upside of the polish lasting relatively long is that the color is very steadfast, so it’s not the kind of polish that will just peel off once it starts chipping. I wish I had brought the bottle with me because I could have easily touched up the color to extent the clean mani look the full eight days…
