Frugal Snob: & Other Stories Launches Stateside

Unlike COS which has been around for awhile now across Europe and Asia, Swedish brand & Other Stories – which like COS is owned by H&M – just launched overseas about a year ago and recently in the US with a retail store in NYC and an online web shop. In addition to ready-to-wear, shoes, and bags, however, they have an extensive bath and body collection that also includes fragrances, candles, and nail polishes. Price-wise, everything that the brand stocks is for less than what you’d pay at a department store and for more than what you’d pay at H&M; aesthetically, that is well-reflected (i.e. you can go here for affordable cashmere and clean-lined beauty packaging…you won’t find chalky shadows or acrylic). Most of the beauty buys are under $20 and they’ll be launching cosmetics soon. You can check out the many products here; they’re categorized by different colored paint splatters. Do note that the scrubs look like they’re more malleable on the website than they actually are; I’ve been using one of them these last few weeks, and it’s def one you have to warm up in your hands before applying on your body.  Also, as an added perk, if you’re a fan of any of the products you can bring your product once you’re finished back with you to their store and they’ll give you 10% off your next beauty purchase…perfect for all of us beauty junkies 🙂

If you happen to be in NYC, I would highly suggest checking out their store. It’s rare to find beauty so well integrated with RTW/accessories (orange polishes merchandised with orange separates, for example), which really helps bring the looks to life.
