Christian Louboutin Now Has 31 ‘Spiked’ Nail Polishes

Inspired by his notoriously high heels, Christian Louboutin launched a nail polish in – what else – his signature red hue. The $50 polish was such a smash hit that just a few months later the brand released a whopping 31 shades. Also $50, these polishes come with a slightly smaller cap and it’s silver versus black. For $55 you can get Loubi Primer and Loubi Gloss (the names almost pay for themselves don’t they?). Okay, cute names aside, the price is something you have to wrap your head around (as a comparison Tom Ford’s polishes are $32), but when you’re buying one of these, you’re clearly buying more than just a polish. This is a keepsake/display item that will draw attention (it also makes for a handy ring holder). I recently got a mani/pedi with the above polish, and the high-shine color is stellar. Could I get the same look for a fraction of the cost from another brand? Of course, but it’s hard not to see the value of this truly awe-inspiring packaging. In an interesting twist. these polishes are also sold exclusively in shoe departments rather than at beauty counters. And, for the true Christian Louboutin fan, they also have a polish to paint the underside of your nails red. Christian Louboutin nail polish available at Nordstrom.
