Lanvin Sugar Mini Grommeted Suede Crossbody Bag: Go the Limit

Lanvin Sugar Mini Grommeted Suede Crossbody Bag

Lanvin bags often tend to lean towards the prettier, more traditionally feminine side. Now it looks like they’ve switched gears for the time being, from their recent braided and tassel shoulder style to this latest riff on all-over studs. The brand is full of attitude this season, in the way of embellishments and color, but this neutral suede crossbody, which you can also wear as a simple shoulder bag, is my true favorite.

When it comes to metal grommets, I’d usually say know your limits, but Alber Elbaz gets it just right, even when he’s overdoing it. Instead of feeling like a total overload of silver, these allover grommets read like a cool print and the resulting effect is somehow almost subtle, thanks to the simplistic silhouette. I’m also sold on the design. Since I’m basically 90% crossbody these days, I wouldn’t have this laidback style any other way. Lanvin Sugaricon available for pre-order for $1,850 at Bergdorf Goodman (expect shipping by March 1st).

Wear with: Caramel suede feels right with gauzy silk-chiffon, and Paul & Joe’s softly flowing maxi dress is a perfect transition piece. Paul & Joe dressicon at NET-A-PORTER for $1,135.
