Jill Haber Spring 2014 Collection: The Woman to Watch

Jill Haber Spring 2014 Collection

I’m so completely obsessed with Jill Haber bags. Ever since I saw them last season, I can’t stop buying them and I can’t stop wearing them. Everywhere I go, people stop, stare, inquire, and consequently obsess along with me. I’ve got all my friends hooked on her, and the brand is now making its way around Hollywood. Brooke Shields had flaunted one during Fashion Week, and most recently, Alyssa Milano carried her holographic minaudière to the Golden Globes.

For Spring 2014, Jill Haber has incorporated Lucite into her mix, in the most ingenious way imaginable. While a touch of Lucite is cool, I’m wary of full-frontal exposure. Jill gets her balance just right, especially in the two styles I’ve already purchased. The Ethan sports the transparent material strictly on the gusset, while the William showcases a swirling S-shape, for just a peak that maintains the mystery. Feel free to go ahead and be jealous of my cobalt-blue William; it’s not available online, but you can order it.

No matter which you pick: these bags are meticulously made, and if you meet Jill you’ll see why. She’s as big a bag snob as can be; her impressive personal collection, packed with lust-worthy vintage pieces, reflects her vast knowledge and passion.

And then there are the prices, almost too good to be true. The Ethan is made of genuine, high-quality Italian python and eases it at a mere $950. Don’t forget the fact that the pieces are all hand-made in New York City. Seriously, I cannot reconcile it. I’d pay double because that’s the level quality you’re getting. But, of course, I’m happy to pay $950…very happy! At $1,850, the William goes for more, as the construction is pretty spectacular: a box minaudière with a sturdy frame and very thick Lucite elements, especially on the artful closure.

I originally elected Jill Haber as a name to look out for, and I’m on the money with this one. She is blowing up, and deservedly so. Jill Haber Spring 2014 collection available on Jill Haber.
